THE LEADING SPIRIT TEAM — “The Siren’s Call”
What clients need more than anything else is a system of support and guidance to get from “here” to “there”—and the right people to lead them through the journey.
Grace, Leigh, and Julie have a rich and satisfying partnership and offer a powerful set of strengths to clients. They are strategic thinkers who can hold the “big vision” as well as explain the steps to get there. They are intellectually curious collectors of best practices. They value multiple perspectives and approaches and delight in working with a diverse clientele. They instill hope and optimism, and they are deliberate and energetic in seizing opportunities for transformation and organizational growth
Their partnership dates back to the late 1990s, when each enjoyed leadership positions in the nonprofit world. During that time, they discovered coaching as a powerful tool to help make an impact and counteract burnout.
The three had myriad connections and were entwined even before joining forces with Leading Spirit. They were fellows in a statewide women’s leadership program. They were participants in CompassPoint’s landmark study on coaching and nonprofit leadership. They benefited from each other’s services as coaches and clients, and as students and trainer at the Coaches Training Institute and the Center for Right Relationship. They also were all active in social justice causes and were able to share insights as mothers of different generations with diverse life experiences.
Throughout their early meetings and partnerships, each one heard a “siren’s call” to connect. Irresistible qualities drew Grace, Leigh and Julie to one another—and together they are creative, visionary and fiercely determined on behalf of clients.
The three firmly believe in the power of intentional, consciously designed relationships. They value leadership as a reflective, dynamic (and essentially relational) endeavor. They see individual and team strengths—their own and clients’—as the foundation for creating joyful lives and inspired, productive work. They practice their relationship values in their business partnership and also with their associates, clients, families and communities.
